In a solid debut into the fashion industry, recent Istituto Marangoni graduate Ibrahim Musa with a witty postmodern-minimalist aesthetic, presented a graduate collection named ‘The Enlightened Man‘ at Firenze Graduate Show, which caught the attention of many discerning eyes.

The collection is minimalist without limiting or reducing itself. It stretches much deeper—and wider—than the state of calmness it evokes on both wearer and observer. The collection boasts of a boldness to its character that slightly discomforts and startles yet impresses in a witting regard that is evocative of today’s millennials: young, wild and free!

Speaking on the ideas behind this collection, Ibrahim says:

Like the unnerving appearance of a deserted building, a man can amplify himself to the most intense form of his nature by simmering down.

The view of minimalism in this collection is that it is a deep and disarming force that says ‘I am here’, not only a strong presence to the observer but also truly present in mind. The prints integrated into the collection have been captured by my personal explorative photography on architectural buildings in London, which seeks to illustrate modern buildings and a perception of them that is rooted in man’s constant yearning for design and fashioning of form through materialistic expression.
