Nicholas Coutts‘ Spring18 collection harbors a slight sense of romanticism that poetically exorcises an almost spiritual relationship between the naked male body, and clothes: a type of romanticism similar to a Midsummers Night Dream’s; one of interconnectedness comes to life. Here, in the manner by which the collection is presented, independent of the body, and yet, connected; by way of functionality, of the clothes to the body, and the body to the clothes.

The South African designer’s collection explores silhouettes and plays with proportion and volume to create visceral looks within three thematic place-holders: gender, queer culture and night life in a mash up of texture and print.
