In celebration of the Nasty 40 list that was released earlier this month, we threw an off-schedule Fashion Week party at Lagos’ Nok by Alara, the city’s high-brow restaurant known for its imposing architecture, lavish decor, picturesque outdoor space and scrumptious menu. Our indigenous guests, some of Africa’s most creative minds, turned up in droves and so did our international guests and media partners.
Some of the honourees present included Ladunni Lambo, Tay Iwar, Idris King, Kayinsola Onalaja, Jermaine Jason, Rich Mnisi, Papa Oppong and Dennis Osadebe, while the most notable names in attendance included the Fashion News Director of Vogue.com Chioma Nnandi, Fashion Director of GQ Style Mobolaji Dawodu, Fashion Editor of British Vogue Jack Borkett, Edwin Jiang of Vogue International, CNN Africa’s Digital Editor Stephanie Busari, Sophie Bouillon of GQ France, as well as respected photographer and filmmaker Andrew Dosunmu.
Other guests who made our night included the Associate Editor of Models.com Irene Ojo, Elle South Africa Editor Dimeji Alara, Marie Claire South Africa Writer Amira Rasool, Essence Magazine Contributor Enuma Okoro, Huffington Post Writer Sissi Johson, Face Hunter founder Yvan Rodic, Bellanaija Style Editor-at-Large Mazzi Odu, Bellanaija Style Editor Eki Ogunbor, among many others who graced the event.
